Jayaprana Graveyard

This graveyard is a romantic story buildings such as the story of Romeo and Juliet in Europe.

Jayaprana Graveyard is located in the area of West Bali National Park, precisely in the Gulf Terima ( Teluk Terima) , Sumber Klampok Village,District of Gerokgak, Singaraja-Bali. This graveyard has a very beautiful sea view, and that's why a lot of people who come to visit there.

According to legend, Jayaprana is an orphan who was raised by the village authorities Kalianget. Jayaprana marry a girl from the village of Banjar named Nyoman Layonsari. Unfortunately, Jayaprana foster father fell in love with Layonsari. Jayaprana was killed for her snatch. However Layonsari refused to give love and life in people besides Jayaprana and choose suicide.

This love story becomes a tragic legend in Bali that linger well until now. You can find the statue Jayaprana and Layonsari that surrounds the tomb. Not only Jayaprana buried here, but also his wife, Layonsari and the governor ordered to kill Jayaprana. The tomb is also a temple can be reached within 4 hours by car from Denpasar.

Because it was higher, you can see Menjangan island  from the temple area. In fact, you can see some mountains in Java from there if the state of the sky being bright.
